My TEDx talk from last year is finally online! … I think this was one of the hardest but most enjoyable things I have ever done. Public speaking has never been my forte and I would absolutely dread it! Doing this cured me of that and I actually had a great time. To be on a 23M people platform, talking about what I care about … alongside some really inspirational people is a great feeling and I look forward to doing it all over again! Thank you @tedx_official @tedxlstm @katerinacheliotis @sophie_owen87 and @herb.kim for all your support and mentorship and for the amazing opportunity!
Once upon a time in a Galaxy far far away … we gelled lots and lots of video lights transforming the caves here in the Riviera Maya into something truely out of this world. Here we take a journey through roots, under air domes and over haloclines. Needless to say this was extremely fun to shoot!
Big thank you to everyone involved and Makito Japanese and Thai restaurant in Puerto Aventuras and Zero Gravity Dive Center Mexico for your support with equipment.
It was so much fun shooting Nick Clifford after his stage cave course with Mauro Bordignon, Cave World. We had over 200,000 lumens of light to play with in some absolutely beautiful cave off the beaten path!! Hope to see you soon Nick, you did a great job for your first shoot!
Cenote Carwash was back to it’s more normal self after a lot of heavy rain made it rather tannic! This was an excellent opportunity to play around with and test some sequence ideas. Very excited to begin to shoot some safety orientated short films with Mauro, Cave World.
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”
Marking 3 years of collaboration with Bassline Drift and to many more years of teamwork with this group of people! Over 3 hours of placing light, waiting, modeling and all round having fun being creative. Big thanks to Marty O’ Farrell for the use of some BIG Big Blue lights/HID’s and your support with my work.
Inbetween some exciting projects with more exciting people in the next months look out for more of these compilations capturing some places around in a different light 🙂
Just a smidge over the moon with my new Panasonic GH5 S camera and Nauticam housing! 😍 We put it through it’s paces today pushing its ISO limits with a trial in a large cavern on Chinese Garden line in Cenote Tajma-Ha. It soars past my old GH4 in leaps and bounds in regards to low light … really excited to see what more it can do in the many ideas that are flowing already!
Refreshing to work with another creative! Bernadette and I teamed up to practise playing around with lighting in caverns yesterday, moved into cave today and will be diving again tomorrow. So far so good, communication is getting really smooth, I think we will have our own secret language by the end of this project … More footage to come!!
Marking all my little editing projects up to date … for now. Here is some stunning halocline, shot in Xunaan Ha! Alina and Simon did very well juggling lights for the first time and were very patient models … look forward to shooting more with you guys in the future. Tomorrow onto new projects at Cenote car wash with Bernadette ☺
Final Day of dry caving … for now! Osama, Davide and I teamed up to explore and survey part of Kantun Chi whilst Peter, Angelica and Juan did another section. It was very small and crawly and 99% sump. It was Davide’s first time dry caving and hats off … we spent a long time in the cave and connected to a separate entrance.
