I am very excited to kick off my new collaboration with Mauro Bordignon and his company cave world with this moody dark short compilation of a spectacular dive playing with the reflections in this cave system.

I had so much fun trying out my new Light Monkey canister light and playing with the Suex DPVs (thank you Osama) … See if you can spot who is who

Sebastien Kister‘s MNemo has been a game changer in Harry’s exploration and surveying of “String of Pearls”. It was really interesting to see it being put through it’s paces today and how fast and easy it is to use. Here is a short clip demonstrating just that …
If you are interested to find out more about the surveying tool check out Ariane’s Line and stay tuned for the documentary Harry and I are producing about this cave system which will include an in depth feature about device and it’s use in cave exploration.Film and post-production Katy Fraser

Bassline Drift Nature – OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

Bassline Drift ‘Nature’ – OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

This is the latest music video shot for Bassline Drift’s new single ‘Nature’.

Using two 15,000 lumen video lights at night and carefully selected material, the idea was to loosely depict the metamorphosis of a butterfly to create a visually pleasing sequence and story. Playing on reflection was the key to incorporating a butterfly theme that ties nicely in with the song title ‘nature’.

This shoot was a completely unique experience for me. It held lots of challenges as many times it went late into the night and working with material is a variable in itself! It was shot over four days at the amazing Diving Prestige Villa (www.divingprestige.com) earlier in the year. Although no special effects were used, the post production had to be meticulously done to produce not just an aesthetic motion picture, but also a piece that compliments both the flow of the music and weaves in music artists Keli and Sink.

SJ who was the model, assisted on my previous shoot with freediver and artist Naomi Gittoes who although could not be present has to be thanked for her huge role in the birth of these underwater music video shoots! I hope you can be here for the next 🙂 SJ is not a professional freediver but never the less did an amazing job with her perseverance in an extremely challenging role. It is no easy task to hold you breath upside down whilst manipulating your body and materials in an elegant and beautiful way! We spent many nights stitching material, practising in our little roof pool, freezing our butts off and laughing into the early hours trying to get the shots picture perfect. A big thank your for your invaluable role in the creation of this film.

Keli and Rachel throughout the editing were thoroughly engaged and involved. Their constant excitement and great creative input definitely helped to mould the film into what you see here. It is so amazing to be able to combine passions in our unlikely, unique, little collaboration and I can’t wait to do more work with you guys, you have become an invaluable part of my post production in all areas of my filming.

It was shot with a Panasonic GH4 with a 17-35mm lens in a Nauticam Housing and 2 x 15,000 Bigblue Dive Lights – USA Headquarters

TRAILER “A Peace Within” – Out of Darkness into Light

Here is the OFFICIAL trailer for “A Peace Within” – Out of Darkness into Light.

Philip Gray was dubbed ‘extreme artist’ after a number of expeditions he undertook to paint. He has travelled far and wide to places like Everest, Antartica and deep into the Borneo Rainforest just to name a few locations!

Last month he came here to Quintana Roo in Mexico with aims of capturing the Cenotes by painting UNDER WATER. This was not the first time he has painted under water and the Cenotes proved a different beast all together, even when compared to painting under an Ice Berg or with the Tiger Sharks of the Bahamas.

Meticulous logistical planning was undergone by ProTec DiveCenter to ensure that painting in the overhead environment was both safe and the conservation of the Cenotes was paramount. Over the week he was with us he produced several beautiful Canvas’ truly capturing the beauty of The Pit, Calavera (Temple of Doom), Casa Cenote and Cenote Carwash!

This trailer will be distributed throughout DeMontfort Fine Art Official galleries across the UK and Cruise Ships to launch his new collection “A Peace Within”.

It has been an absolute pleasure to have had the opportunity to shoot and produce this project, something so far removed from anything else I have undertaken. It’s been a challenge, an invaluable experience and most of all A LOT of FUN!

Philip Gray – Cenote Carwash ‘Extreme Art’

The last, but by NO means least canvas of Philip‘s collection.

Today we went to Carwash, between the misty skeleton trees into the twilight zone to paint. I ADORE carwash, it’s not the first shoot I have done here and it certainly won’t be the last. I love sinking through the cloud layer to a scenery below that looks like something straight out of a fairy tale.

I will now be focusing of editing a documentary together for the foreseeable. Stay tuned!!

Philip Gray – Calavera ‘Extreme Art’

We shot at Calavera  for the third canvas in the collection, otherwise know as the ‘Temple of Doom”. This was a more challenging shoot as the painting sat in the halo-cline and so a lot of the shots were hard to focus. The visibility wasn’t at it’s best and the beams not at their brightest. These things happen when your shooting on location and have no control over the elements and nature. Only two paintings left, and Philip has chosen Carwash and Casa Cenote.

Philip Gray – Pit II ‘Extreme Art’

We went back to ‘The Pit’ today for Philip‘s second canvas of the collection and to experiment with some different paint application techniques. Another beautiful painting emerged from the depths boasting a particularly spectacular perspective of the Pit.

Up bright and early tomorrow for a change of site for Shoot III – Canvas III.
